Stupid title... whatever. I need help with RAM.

Im going to get 2GB for sure! 1 is too little, and 3 I dont need.

Im confused on the whole DDR and PC3200 numbers. Can someone tell me what makes RAM better? The DDR lower or higher? PC higher... im almost sure.

Also, can someone post a few links to some GOOD! 2GB RAM... super fast low latency stuff. Either 2GB or 2 x 1GB will both do.

Also, I hear people OC RAM... that increases the PC# I believe... Im getting the board in my sig guaranteed. So work off that. Thanks guys.

yupp your abs right, pc#### is the speed and better higher, the number that goes after DDR is its frequency(the higher the faster).

I been reading some stuff, and I hear RAM makes the possibilities of an OC. Can someone please recommend an AWESOME FAST SUPER LOW LATENCY GREAT FOR OCing RAM ..... if it exist.

I usualy like OCZ's products but corsair has really done a good job on these. DDR433 2-3-2-6! Thats the tightest timings I've seen on 1 Gb RAM modules, and its even DDR433. If you bring it down to DDR400 and give it more juice you can probably tighten the timimgs down to 2-2-2-X. Oh yeah and here's the RAM lol: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145594

Oh yeah its a bit pricey at +$300...

Im looking near that price range... its fine.

1 thing though, the reviews on that Corsair you posted didnt seem too good. I also like OCZ. Would you mind recommending another? lol sry.

So why do people always get PC3200.... Do you select RAM by pins?

PC3200 is the most popular type of DDR memory. And you should most likely need 184pin memory.

DDR-400 (PC3200) is not the fastest RAM. There is up to DDR-600, however most motherboards only support up to DDR-400 natively.
Some good 1gb DDR-400 RAM is.....

Also if you have the money, the OCZ VX and the Mushkin Redline series are probably your best bet at the moment

Look in my sig. It's DDR433, and will do 260MHz(DDR520) 2-2-2-5 overclocked. Of course stock is 433MHz 2-2-2-5. Oh, and its less than $200...i think it wins hands down.

Thats 2 x 512. Is it ok to have 4 x 512? Im looking to get 2GB Ram. I thought 2 x 1GB was best for that option.

The larger the module is the harder to overclock it (generally). But overclocking 1GB sticks isn't impossible by any means.

Upgrade wise, 2*1GB sticks are better because you still have 2 banks open for future upgrading to 3-4GB. Filling all 4 banks means you can't upgrade any more unless you sell your current RAM and get new ones. The choice is yours, personally I too would rather have 1*2GB, but since my RAM was free I had no choice lol.

Ok then.... can you guys post awesome OCable 2 x 1GB Rams... or 1GB Rams I can just buy 2 of lol. Thanks

Those aren't bad at all. Really 2GB kits aren't quite too popular yet, people still like 1GB. You'd probably be beter off with 2 seperate 1GB sticks not sold in a Dual-Channel package right now I think. Hopefully someone else can bring forth some decent RAM too...I'm very picky so I can't find much now that tickles my fancy.

For PC3200 i would say yes, most everything else that is on par is alot more expensive. G.Skil makes pretty good RAM if you want to look into that, not sure if they make 1GB sticks or if it is all 2*512MB though.
