RAM not making computer run much faster

RAM would only help to multitask and store more physical data. it does not make the computer run faster, but you can notice performance is better with more RAM, if the processor is good the speed of processes information will be more. and sometimes having too much useless items on Hard drive may slow down the computer.

Im sorry but bollocks.

Where you are retrieving hd videos from RAM rather than a page file or hard drive you will see a significant performance increase.

You clearly haven't ever used a high end video editing system.

You try rendering a 15GB file with 4GB of ram and see how that goes.

To the OP, it appears you're mistaking video playback with rendering, two very different things.

Video playback is done via the CPU usually, however some graphics cards can assist. In this case, I would ensure you have all the latest drivers from your manufactuerer.

Other than that RAM, will not slow down your machine and will certainly increase your video rendering performance. Also I assume you have 64bit version of windows?
