Hey guys I am wanting to upgrade my RAM but I have some Q:

Q:1 - I have 4 slots. 2 of the slots have 2GB (4gb in total) can I buy a singular 4GB to upgrade or should I buy 2x 2GB ones ?

Q:2 - Are these the same ?

(despite ones 4gb and ones 2gb)
Does it matter if its SILICON POWER ? or is that just the brand

And would the ebay one work on my ACER M3400 desktop mobo ?

It would be better to get two sticks so it runs in dual-channel mode.

The ones from the crucial website list several different speeds. You need to find out what speeds the ones you have now are running at.

Download Speccy and run it. It will tell you what mhz your RAM is running at. Double that speed, and that's the RAM you need. I'm guessing it'll either be 1066 or 1333.

Sorry to say but I am a bit clueless from what it has told me so if possible could you link me to which RAM I should be purchasing from Crucial from this given list it has given me for my PC ?

Thanks

And if you want to be of bigger help I would also love a ebay link but its not necessary :)

Thank you again for the reply

From the image it says PC3 10700, I googled that ram and can't find any of the like, and when I used Crucial website the ones it linked me to said there would work guaranteed

You are running 1333mhz RAM, or PC3-10600. You can run any 1333mhz RAM on your computer, doesn't have to be Crucial.

Here are some cheap RAM that will work with your computer:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PNY-Optim...emoryRAM_JN&hash=item2318512bd1#ht_957wt_1037

Giving it 8GB total RAM.

Ok Thanks, are you 100% sure that will work on my computer ?
As that says PC3 - 10660 and the one on curtail says 10600 - Does it really matter ?
And would it matter if its ECC or Non ECC ?
