RAM Question Will Going from 4GB Ram to 8 Make a Noticeable difference?

I'll be buying an Acer Aspire AS5740-5749 NoteBook that comes with 4GB of RAM but can expand to 8 GB. I don't do graphics stuff or game just usual computer stuff: Internet, word, downloading music and sometimes video, etc.
Will I see a real difference in my speed going from 4 GbS to 8 or am I basically wasting my money because the extra Ram won't affect the Regular Activities I do. What is your advice? If it runs 15% faster for what I do, I'll consider the cost of the 4 GBS of RAM worth it.

Thanks I'll Take Your Advice

Thanks for your advice I'll hold off expanding on the RAM as a result. You mean to say that too much Ram can be a bad thing?

yeah, I don't think you'll ever use that much using word/internet/ gaming. You have to be doing design work to eat up any more than 4gb usually.

Hibernate is storing your ram onto your hard drive so that when you turn on your computer it copies it off the hard drive to your ram. The more ram, the slower the process. Also, windows reserves the space so you would loose 4 gigs off your hard drive always.

Other than that, there is nothing bad about having "too much" ram, but since 4 is already enough there won't be any performance increase.
