Hi. Just a ram performance question.
I am thinking of getting a performance for my new pc instead of some value ram. Does a crucial ballistix tracer 1GB 1066 faster than 2 kingston 1GB 800 ram?
You are better going with 2 kingston 1Gb 800 sticks as the two of them will perform better than just one stick doing all the work especially if it is dual channelled.
What are you trying to run? If your mobo runs at 1066 then techincally it will be 'faster' but you're probably not going to see much of that speed on your end. You would probably be better off with 2GB of 800mhz RAM than 1GB at 1066mhz.
Performance gain from a single 1066 ram is not noticeable comapared to a single 800 ram. If your mobo supports dual channel, then as everyone had said you are better off getting two sticks of 800 ram.
