RAM Question

Well while you are all tricking people into posting in old threads i thought id come in here and ask a Noob question. I have a Compaq Presario SR5025AN which i realised is a piece of poo after i bought it (didnt know what i was doing at the time) and i wanted to upgrade the RAM. From my research it has 2 slots and currently only has 512mb of RAM, what i was planning was to remove the old 512 stick and put in 2 x 1Gb sticks. Is it as simple as switching them over and would this be over kill?

It should be just that simple, remove the old RAM and stick the new RAM in. Just make sure you buy the right type (ie DDR or DDR2)

ahh thanks guys, how important is brand? i have found 1Gb sticks ranging from $40 (australian) to $100 (au), i was looking at this:
