im building a gaming computer and kinda stuck on ram,
my motherboard is tripple channel but also has a second 3 slots for any
extra. i have people telling me all sorts of things like,
-i dont need more than 2 gigs
-i need atleat 4 gigs
i plan to throw whatever i can at this computer but i want to save money where ever i can. do i need 3 sticks or can i use 2?

help would be much apprietiated.

6GB RAM is pretty standard today. You'd probably be OK with 4GB, but I'm not sure how the computer would like it. I'd imagine it'd run it, but I'm unsure if it'll do dual channel or just single channel...

now i have a system with windows 7 on and 3GB does well with only 26% used. Also what RAM do you wanna get . (DDR 2 6gb aint worth it) DDR 3 6GB well worth it.

If i were you i would use 2GBs per slot to make up the 6GB as this will increase performance
