Hi

I currently have 504MB RAM that is 2x RAM chips in the long slots. Anyways I have noticed since always when I run more than 1 of my graphics programs the computer is very slow. Since now I use at least 3 graphics programs constantly at once do I need more RAM and how much should I be using.

I have to always end up opening and closing to get any speed from the computer which is very fast when only using MSN and Internet Explorer.

Also is RAM RAM or do I need specific RAM for my computer.

These are my programs I use:

CorelDRAW 12
Adobe Photoshop CS2
Adobe Illustrator CS2
Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional
Adobe GoLive CS2

These are my other programs that I have running most the time:

Outlook Express
MS Word
MS Excel
iTunes
MSN/Skype
All my security softwares
Internet Explorer (at least 4 Web pages at a time)
Whatever else is running the background
Abbyy Screenshot Reader

Looks like you need to upgrade your memory. Upgrade it to 1GB or 2GB depending on your system.

What is your system spec? so we can give a better suggestion rather than just pure guessing.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2002 Service Pack 2
IBM Intel (R) Pentium 4
2.80GHz
504MB RAM

Thats all I know. The actual computer itself is a flat black rectangle box (not a laptop, im not that stupid) and has an IBM badge on it and also says Think Centre.

Still guessing but some DDR400 is probably what you need. Use CPUz to see what type of RAM you need. Then get some value RAM of the same type. Buying more expensive performance RAM isn't worth it because your system probably doesn't allow you to set the timings. Also, the RAM you already have will probably be the equivalent of value RAM.
