ram quickie

I have an old pc3200 ddr400 ocz ram and it is 512mb.
i want to upgrade ram but i hear ure not supposed to mix dif brands so i bought the same type of ram except its a 1gig stick ( I THInk it's exactly the same as current stick i have just more mb)
Will this cause any problems?
i have a msi k8vneo2 mobo with amd3500+

You should be fine. Worst possible situation that's the speed is lower and will under clock your current RAM, this shouldn't be noticeable though. You will see a fair performance increase going from 512 to 1.5 Gig even if it slightly underclocks.
