i bought a tny technologies 1gig of ram chipset, and i was reading the specs for my computer . said the following. "The Sony Vaio PCV-RZ14G uses PC-2100 type memory and has 3 bank(s) of 1 socket(s) each for a total of 3 memory socket(s) . The Sony Vaio PCV-RZ14G comes standard with 512MB of RAM and supports up to 1.5GB of RAM . Choose from the memory modules listed above for guaranteed compatible upgrades for your Sony Vaio PCV-RZ14G.

For optimal performance of your Sony Vaio PCV-RZ14G install the maximum amount of RAM in each memory socket."

=was wondering if i put the 1gig of ram in one socket as aditional ram, will it work, or can i only use multiple 512mb chipsets .

If it says it only supports 1.5, than I beleive only 512M chips would work... You could try the 1G, but if it works at all, I suspect it'll only register 512M...

You could max with a pair of 512mb memory sticks to throw in with the first 512mb provided they met the same specs and better with the same brand that came with the system. The memory would have to be PC2100 266mhz most likely single sided.
