Ram Speed Question

I am getting 6GB of Ram for a new system.
-My question is does faster ram improve system performance alot, in terms of applications and games??
Lets say this, would 1600mhz be much better then 1333mhz?

yeah more ram more speed but to an "extent" , there is a limit after which if you increase your ram there will be no significant acceleration in the speed, and also the amount of usable ram depends upon the structure of your system like a 32bit system with compatible os can support up at maximum 4gigs of ram like wise, do a search on this in this forum, a lot have been discussed on the issues before.

You would not be able to notice a difference between 1333Mhz and 1600Mhz.

Only in benchmarks would you see the difference.

increasing d ram will boost performance as there is a faster data access but u shuld check ur system board specs for compatibility.

The correct answer is that adding memory will improve system performance if the applications and databases you are now running do not fit in current memory. That requires them to access the hard drive constantly to operate. If your applications already fit in existing memory then adding more memory will only burn a little more electricity. If they don't then the performance enhancement will be very obvious. As mentioned above, RAM speed is one of the more minor aspects of overall computer performance. Certainly the amount of memory would be far, far more important.
 
Lots of people think increasing RAM can give them ultimate speed. But its not true actually if we go deeper my friends the RAM acts as a junction where data is temporarily stored and queued for the processing the data. Now comes the picture comes - the processing power depends upon the process, so higher the frequency of the processor, the higher will be data processed.

So you can get ultimate speed when both are in proportion.RAM act as yardstick in real sense. :)
