Iv been tinkering with my system in an attempt to get it running faster. After purchasing this new Ram and finding out I cant run it at 1000MHz I was a bit ticked. My board apparently only does 1002MHz and my pc keeps Blue screening and restarting itself when I run it like that, it runs really fast and great for awhile though. Id like to know about timings. Iv looked online and haven't found anything conclusive on the subject. Id like to know what I could change mine to, and what happens when you change the timing? Does it run hotter? Does it need more voltage? Could I destroy it?
Its running at 887MHz in the BIOS, I know that it will show on CPU-z as half that because its DDR2. Now I looked up a chart that said the ram should run at 5 5 5 15 when at 1000MHz, so does this mean it would be ok to take that 18 and make it 15??? I guess I don't get the correlation between freq and timings.
Any help would be great
Heres a screen shot of what my Ram is running at now.
