Well...I checked the support page of your computer to verify the specs. It does take DDR ram and says it should handle up to 4GB. There is not a good solid reason it should not work.

There is a couple things it could be...try the following in this order and post back if there is any change.

1. Take the new stick out and put in your old RAM again and attempt to boot. Does it boot into Windows? If it does try step 2. If it does not...there is bigger problems.

2. Take out the old stick and put the new stick back in. Make sure it is fully locked into position and "clicks" into place. Try and boot. If it does...it was not fully seated. If it does not boot...maybe a dead RAM stick. I would return the stick if you bought it.

Also we need to see the type of RAM you tried to install. Post a ink for the RAM so we can see the exact model of the stick you are attempting to install.

i have 4 slots to stick in the ram, 2 slots are taken by 256mb X 2 = 512mb and i added the 1gb stick, computer comes up with that screen once put in,i tried step 1, i take out the new 1gb stick, leave the old ram, start up cpu and its fine, im on it now, i also tried taking out the 2 stock ram sticks and just adding the new 1gb stick, and it came to the same screen, here is a pick of my ram which i bought on ebay.

Are you sure you put the new stick, by itself, in the proper slot?

If so, it looks like you got a bad stick. :(

Usually the one closest to the cpu. If it don't work in there then you have bad ram and need to return it.

Looks like generic RAM. In the past I've ordered cheap RAM online from ebay ($20 for a 1GB DDR stick, but I bought different sticks over time) and they were all faulty. Generic RAM is about as bad as it gets.

Get something branded, Kingston is quite good for the price.

I can't read the printing on the chips can you post everything that's on one of them? A lot of unbranded 1GB sticks use high density chips that don't work in a lot of machines.
