what the type of ram should i buy and what is the maximum ram( is it 1024 or what ?)
thx in advance

Hmmm

You should be able to put in DDR400 memory. The max that your board will take is 3GB. However that can be achieved only by using PC2100 RAM. With DDR400 (PC3200) or DDR333 (PC2700), you can fill up to a maximum of 2 slots. Then if you decide to get 1GB module of DDR400, you will be able to fill up only one slot.

RAM is based on your needs. 1 GB by buying 2 (PC3200) 512 MB sticks would be the best cost effective (cheapest).

No need to buy the 3200 RAM by the 1 GB stick, unless money isn't a problem and you need that much memory. Even gamers may stick to only 1 GB's worth of RAM.

Best bet: 2 x 512 MB PC3200 RAM sticks.

Or whatever supported PCxxxx rating of 2 512 MB sticks are cheaper where you'll buy it from.

There are exceptions but for the most part 1GB of RAM will be fine. It doesnt really matter which sockets you install them in and you might as well get DDR400 since the price delta from DDR333 is small
