With DDR400 (PC3200) or DDR333 (PC2700), you can fill up to a maximum of 2 slots. Then if you decide to get 1GB module of DDR400, you will be able to fill up only one slot.

There are exceptions but for the most part 1GB of RAM will be fine. It doesnt really matter which sockets you install them in and you might as well get DDR400 since the price delta from DDR333 is smallso i my motherboard has 3 slot on it.. which one should i used it DDR400 (PC3200) or DDR333 (PC2700)
maybe i want to do it to 1GB which is the best and cheaper
