Ram upgrade troubleshooting on an older PC

well is the ram low denisty or high??

hmmm. not sure about this one. can i tell by looking at the stick?

is low denisty, since i ahve the same ram stick for one of my old pcs, i am what to tell you, since if bios says 512 meg and cruical siays 512meg, then i am ? to the boot.ini file, is there a line "max mem=256'? that would limit windows to 256meg

nope. i ran msconfig and made sure the boot.ini file did not have the maxmem in it. grrr.
