RAM upgrade

hi, i want to upgrade to 2gb's of ram in my system (see sig). but im not sure what to get as it is my first laptop. what is good ram for my system. im looking for 1 stick of 1gb!
 
well we'd have to see wat the specs are for you current RAM becuase youd have to buy another stick of the same specs.

hmm im not sure exactly you should read RAM 101.
i think it has to be like same CAS, same type like if its DDR then you have to get another DDR ram. You'd also need to see if your mother board can fit another stick and can do dual channel.
btw is the ram you have now 2 sticks of 512mb or just one stick thats 1024?
