RAM Usage in x86 versus x64

I was wondering something.....

I have 4GB RAM in my PC. Does Vista x64 utilize the 4GB RAM any different that x86 would? It seems that in prior to SP1, Vista x86 would not see all 4GB RAM, but after SP1 it does. So I was just curious if the x64 version actually made more use of the 4GB.

Your thoughts and input are appreciated. Thanks.

SP1 only shows the amount of memory installed correctly, but the amount of memory that is actually available is still the same as before the update, which is somewhere around 3GB depending on your system configuration. You need a 64-bit OS to make use of all 4GB of RAM, which in you case means that you're better off with Vista 64-bit.

Hmm...I see. I recently switched back to Ultimate x86 due to some blue screens I was receiving that seemed to be a driver related issue.

I was wondering if I was better off with x64. However, since I don't game too much or really run any "BIG" software I guess I really won't notice a difference.

Thanks for the replies.
