Ram usage increases steadly????

well it being an oem explains some, and what's up with all the backup programs, i think that may be a nice chunk of it.
 
Please redo the screenshot when you aren't running any programs or have any browser windows open and when the ram usage is high. That way we can get a better look at what is going on.
 
means it's a dell/hp or any other brand name thing, they install a - load of programs they are paid to put on there as a form of advertising sort of, but the actual def is original equipment manufacturer, idk if it actually applies to this technically but many people do use it in this kind of situation.

and from 38%, you'll notice the umph coming back to your computer that it originally had, but then again being an oem it prob came fragmented :P
 
Vista will use a certain percentage of ram no matter what. Vista is horrible on memory usage.

Again, you only want to take memory usage when you are idling, meaning no programs open, no broswers, no explorer windows just task manager.

I meant my disk fragmentation only dropped 1%

My Ram is at 45% with everything closed.
 
Were you using defraggler? That don't seem right. Did it give you a list of files that couldn't be defragged?
 
also, as i said before, he was running defragler while posting this stuff and had all the other windows open and stuff, tonight just leave the comp on with defragler and nothing else running, should do better.
