RAM Voltage

I've just ordered some Ballistix, 4GB to be exact to replace my PC5400 XMS2.

The default Voltage for this RAM is 2.2v, Right?

So, should I set my voltage in the BIOS to +0.4v, as I think it runs at 1.8v stock?
Or am I completely off? lol
 
You should leave it to auto, I believe it would be 0.4V above the stock voltage, where this case would be 2.6v.

I hate motherboards that do that stupid +0.2V or +10% crap, completely useless.
 
I think that most RAM from Corsair and Kingston is 1.8v. Btw Omega, if you want a motherboard without all that "crap", I would recommend the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4. Good connectivity and supports quad core.

I know, it's stupid, I don't know why they can't just state the voltage it'll be at...

Ah, but if I left it at Auto, and I oc'ed it, it may put it up too much, right?

Do you know of a way I can find out the voltage my RAM is running at?
 
I just use my PC Health screen in the bios. +0.4v only gives me low 2.1 so I upped it to +0.6v and now it reads 2.19-2.2. All I know is my ram isn't hot and is stable for over 12hrs like this so I guess I'm fine.
 
If you get CPU-Z it tells you in the SPD tab. The one next to memory, then it's right at the bottom of the list.;)
 
Ah right, excellent!

Thanks mate, it says 1.8v, so I'm guessing that's the stock for my board, so I'd have to put it up to +0.4v
