Ram wont work

Hi Guys!
Bought more ram (2GB DDR 2X 1GB PC3200 400MHZ 184PIN 2 GB DIMM DDR400 HD) for my sons computer but the computer won`t recognize it. Below are the details of his computer, as it is now without the new ram installed. Could anyone kindly tell me why the memory isn`t being recognized and how can I change the settings in order for it to work? :confused: If they are in fact compatible!!!!!:eek:

I'm guessing the computer is a few years old now?

It's quite probable that 1GB could be the max..

Try just 1 of the new chips....boot up..if that works..

turn off..install other new chip for total of 2gb..if that works...mint...

it not, 1gb is probably your limit.

Also, I'd ditch the 256 chip..

I have checked the Gigabyte Website and it states that the max ram for this board is 3 Gb. See below.
