Hi so my laptop died :*( and i decided to build a desktop and i have most stuff picked out except for the ram and i was wondering if triple channel is much better than dual channel? i was talking to a friend and he was under the impression that performance wise it was not noticeably different than dual. Also do i have to buy ram listed as "triple channel" or will any 3 sticks of ddr3 work as long as they are in the right slots.
So far these are the specs im thinking of but i haven't ordered any yet, anyone have any suggestions/improvements?
cpu: i7-930 @2.8ghz
mobo: asus sabertooth X58
hdd: WD SATA3 black caviar
gpu: GTX 460 1GB
psu: havent completely decided yet but im thinking 650W if i go with 1gfx and 800W if i do sli will that be enough power?
