hi a while ago i put ddr memory into a ddr2 computer.the result is that it fried the motherboard. anyway i now have a board which is ddr and i would like to know if it is safe to put that ram in the new one or is going to mess my mainboard up or something. this is important , i do not want to be buying another motherboard

wait, how exactly did you put DDR into a DDR2 computer? There is no way you could have without destroying physically the board and the RAM.

i do not know . i bought it after being told it is ddr2 then i put it in and bam the board was messed up. but now i compare it to some ddr and it looks the same.

update: i just looked at the old board and it looks like i broke the side of the slot when i put it in, so that is how i got it in

DDR would have to be broken to fit into a DDR2 slot, or the other way around. DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 each have a specific slot with a specific location of the notches. You can not physically install one in the wrong slot.

You sure you installed DDR RAM into a DDR2 board? It sounds to me like you installed DDR2 RAM into a DDR2 board but you didn't ground yourself properly and as a result fried the RAM and/or the board or even both. :/

To answer the question we need to know the specs of the computer.
Mainly, what is brand and model # of - the pc, old mb, new mb, memory.
