Computer will randomly restart itself while running, would happen when i first built the computer on and off for a few weeks and now for the last 2 months no issues at all, but it just happened again not 5 minutes ago, idk why its doing this or why its not consistent as far as programs being run nothing has been changed and i'm always running the same programs at the same time. Motherboard is not showing any codes on the led monitor for the board just the standard AO for the board.

    the build is
    Mobo: Maximus VIII Hero Alpha
    CPU: I7 6700k Skylake
Ram: 32gb Corsair Dominator with optional fan cooler
    Gpu: 980ti Reference
Memory: Primary SSD 120gb PNY CS1311 (windows 10 only thing installed on it)
Sedondary SSD 1tb PNY CS1311 (steam and media programs like spotify, skype, discord)
Third SSD PNY CS1111 120gb (Elderscrolls Online and Minecraft)
    Power Supply: 1000w Supernova

Outputs on computer are as follows
    Gaming keyboard & Gaming Mouse
    Monitor for general use
    Bose Headphones
Stereo System (uses its own amplifier only draws audio from soundcard on mobo)
    Snowball microphone
    70" tv for movies

Look in Event Viewer under windows logs for any errors that may pinpoint the issue. Could be anything from a grounding issue to bad power supply. Have you gotten any bluescreens?

No bluescreens just random crashes seems to always be when just on the internet not doing much at all, but when gaming and really ramping up the system it runs fine for hours, and i'll check the logs now

this error seems to be a common one on sever forums online and even on microsofts website, seems something in windows 10 operating system is causing this error, and microsofts only response is to change a setting to prevent hdd's or ssd's from going to sleep, but people are still having the issue regardless, looks like i might be stuck with this one.

I would try a different power supply first. Also make sure 24 pin connector is tight.

sorry didn't respond sooner, haven't had an issue since but its still in the back of my mind, and the connector is tight i checked for both the 24 pin and the 8pin on the cpu, i'm gonna keep it as is for the moment and see what happens just thinking its that software issue with windows 10, did alot of reading and it seems a common issue, I also don't have the money for a psu atm if it keeps up i will buy a new one but just bought a boat so....

if it happens again within the next month i'll start looking into switching the powersupply, its only 1 year old and has plenty of extra overhead for what i'm drawing from it, 3ssds an i76700k and a 980ti on a 1000psu i just can't believe it
