so. If you could build a computer and price didn't matter too much (i mean, keeping it reasonable) and you wanted to use this computer for gaming and work, how would you build it?

p.s. this is a long term build, not right away
p.s.s. monitor, mouse and keyboard not needed

Well I'd simply head over to Newegg.com, order what I want, wait three days for it to ship and put it all together...

ok...
i'm looking to build a computer over a long period of time(3-4 years)
my budget is under $1000
but since i'm looking at getting this over periods of time it can go a little over
and country is the US

wait like your trying to buy the parts over the course of a 3-4 years? kinda pointless considering 3-4 years from now things will be outdated, and newer equipment that will come out might not be compatible blah blah. . . i mean things is just kinda hard to answer considering none of us know exactly whats coming out half a decade from now uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Exactly. There is absolutely no point in buying parts over the course of 3-4 years to then put it together, as until you have a complete set of parts you won't be able to use it. If you bought the CPU first, in 3-4 years that CPU you paid $200 wouldn't even be sold anymore, and they will have processors 2x as fast for half the price.

Point is, you are better off saving your money for 3-4 years and then buying everything all together.
