I was just surfing the web and bam my screen goes blank and my pc randomly reboots... I've never had that happen before.. Any ideas?

I've had so many of those, happened to me like a 100 times in the past. Unfourtunatly my computer eventually broke down and now it is not working as it should be working.
I bought mine in early 2004, so I suppose it had to go anyways, but how old is yours? New computeres arent supposed to be shutting down unless you've gone pass its capeability.

Wow many stuff can cause that...
Dying motherboard...
Dying any part of hardware like Hard Disk...
Even a Brontox virus...

I suppose some of your hardware is dying, it will help us determine it if you tell us how old is your computer, but my computer is old like 7 months now, and 5 months ago hard disk died so... you never really know!

it did use to happen to my dad and the computer just fixed itself - i think it may have been a virus because he had to reinstall the OS because he had a major virus we could not get rid of so... i would say it is a virus.

I checked for viruses and everything was clean.. I have yet to find a trust worthy temperature program out there that seems accurate... What do you use for your temps?

I use Intel TAT. It's pretty accurate but i'm not sure if it will work with your processor, you can try downloading and see. If not, go into your bios and see what temp is shown, should be a section for hardware monitor.

Yeah I get an invalid processor error with that program... In my BIOS, I see 40c at the current temp...

Another passable case is your power supply. I never had much luck with power supply that came with a case

Do you think my 450w supply is enough to power the components listed in my signature at max load? If not then that could be one thing.. Like I said it's only happened once and not since (yet) or ever before since I built the pc..

it might have a bad driver. i have had that happen before. when you start your computer go into advanced settings when you reboot and go into safe mode. then go to control panel and then add or remove programs then delete the latest driver.
