Random Spikes

Hey all,

so i got a wireless set up for my house with comcast internet, linksys modem and router and a linksys wireless card for my desktop PC. I'm running vista as well.

So when im playing an online game, i randomly get lag spikes.My latency doesnt change, but i undoubtably get a lag spike. This only happens on my desktop. I have a mac g4 powerbook that has no problems when im playing an online game. Wondering what might be wrong, what i can try, cause its getting very frustrating. thanks. let me know what info i may need to give.

This happens on Vista and is noticable whenever you're gaming with a wireless connection. Vista automatically tries to detect new networks every 60 seconds, and these often cause lag spikes. You can either run an Ethernet cable to your desktop PC or download a program that disables this Vista feature. I use Vista Anti-Lag and it works fine for me.
