Randomly Shut's down

Hi everyone, first post.

I've got a desktop that I built around 3 years ago. I haven't really had any problems with it until recently. After running for around 15min or so it will just shut off. I can turn it back on immediately but a few minutes later it does the same thing. I had the case open last night and the processor wasn't even close to being hot. I put a different power supply in it...no luck. I downloaded MemoryTest or w/e it's called to test my RAM but the computer shut's off before it shows any errors. Im running Windows XP if that matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Do you have two modules of RAM? If you do pull one module out at a time and test each RAM stick individually. If you have only one stick of memory borrow some RAM and run Memtest86+ again.
 
it could be that your old PS spiked and fried your CPU, motherboard, ect.

This happened with me same thing, check your RAM if it continues then startup the computer and go into the BIOS settings if after a while it shuts down again then you may have a CPU/Mobo problem
 
Wow now that I think about it...I built this computer in 2005! I remember about a year after I built it, my original supply "popped" and I replaced it. That's been 4 years ago though. Honestly, if my motherboard is flaked, it's probably just telling me "let me R.I.P." lol...because this computer has been running almost nonstop for 5 years. I've played countless hours of games on the INTEGRATED graphics as well...including WoW and CS. Im going to steal the Ram from my sisters computer and let it run for a minute...but if thats not the problem then it's probably best to let it retire.

Ok Im lost. Yesterday at work I started thinkin about different things I could do to narrow my problem down. I got home, unhooked everything except for a stick of ram and fired it up. It booted up to BIOS with no problems. Decided to try my luck with the hard drive. Booted it up again, windows opens up...no problems? I let it run all night with just 1 stick of RAM, the HD, keyboard and mouse. It never shut off. So now I have a floppy drive(obsolete anyways...), 2 cd roms,a stick of RAM, and the front USB ports that are disconnected and could possibly be bad. Only 1 out of the 2 usb ports on the front worked for the last year or so. Guess when I get home I'll have to hook everything else up 1 at a time and see what gives it problems.
