raptor or raid?

hey i just wanted to know which would be faster. Should i just go with the 10,000rpm raptor, or should i raid 2 7,200rpm serial ata hard drives?????
 
i would raid 2 sata's, it may not be as fast access times, but transfer rates and load times would be faster.
 
i mean i can afford the 2 raptors, but i dont reallyyy want to spend that much upfront, i just wanted to know if the 2 7200's would be better than just the 1 raptor. money wise 1 74gb raptor is about 160 right now on newegg, i can get 2 100gb serial ata 7200rpm hard drives for about $80-90.
 
I have two raptors but have'nt even raided them. Lets just say they are fast without even being raided.
