Raptors

I've used 2 36gb 10,000rpm WD Raptors in a RAID before and loved it. Storage is not a big deal. Is there a better alternative? Price is roughly $230 for both drives. Thanks.

My question:
Why do you want raptors, what advantage do you think you get
My advice:
Ssave your cash; pickup something with a better capacity and a 16MB cache and stop wasting time with these raptors.

They are 10,000 rpm drives, that's why i love them. I've used this setup before and it was amazing. I also stated capacity isn't an issue. I'm wondering why this isn't a good setup? If you don't believe so, give me reasons why and what I should go with please, thanks.

5 year warranty to boot. :) sig tells all
keep all my samples on these drives, very fast indeed.. at least compared to an old fashioned 7200rpm ata.

they are not worth the extra dosh if u are just using the comp for day to day things. if u are a mega gaming freak i suppose they will give u an advantage, but the 7200 rpm drives are good enough

i can see the difference, especially when installing stuff and uninstalling stuff as well as extracting and recovering.

Samples ? fdo you mean a media format. in which case there is 0 difference

for the frequency of the event, its not worth the cash

none at all

I see a difference in almost everything like copying files, loading games, searching for files, etc.

i give up, let me find a wall to talk to
lol, you might have better luck with that. People will see the results they want to see, especially when they payed 3 or 4 times as much as for a regular drive.

I'm curious to how you don't think you see a difference? I guess from a mathmatical stand point, a 7,200 rpm hd compared to a 20,000 rpm hd? I believe it's roughly 40% faster in benchmarks. It's just science.
