I've been given a rar file which has a password. I was told that the password is in the readme file. Which is seperate to the .rar file. Is there any way i can open this. There must be some way of retrieving the password.

Can anyone help?

Are you sure that there isn't a readme file Inside the Rar. Its possible that whoever told you that meant that there is a rar file, and a readme file enclosed within a main RAR file. So check if the read me is in there. If it isnt, you can't open the file. Search Google for the file name of the rar with a '+' sign and password. (that was awkwardly worded so heres an example: "my file.rar + password" <--- type that in to google)

well, i dont think u can do anything, there are rar password unlockers out there if you want to google.

but since the readme is within the rar file that is alredy password locked, you wont be able to access it.

however, since u said its sperate from the .rar file, did that person tell you how to obtain the redme file?

thats not cracking, that's insane guessing. Not to mention most of them dont work because most things have protectin of it.
