OS: I am going to get Windows 7 home premium 64-bit however, would 32-bit work for now seeing how i have it laying around? ( Other than the limit of 3gb ram, is there any other problems to encounter with 32-bit?)

Not a bad setup,Personally would not have gone with an Hitachi "Deathstar" hard drive, and 8gb of ram is overkill,Should just have gone with 4gb and put the money towards a better graphics card but as been as you already got it all now not much we can do.

The 32bit os will be a problem if you want to be able to use all that 8gb of ram you have,32 bit will only be able to use 3.25Gb i think it is.

Fairly decent rig, I would suggest another drive though. Hitachi's are cheap for a reason. I would go with this drive, much better performance/reliability:
WD Black 1TB

As for the 32bit OS, it will work fine until you upgrade to x64.

For the ram, i actually got it when it had a good sale. About to HDD, Oh no, lol you guys serious? Even if i went to the store and bought rather than it being shipped, it could still die?

It doesn't matter, like Nevakonaza they are known as "Deathstar" in the industry. Buy an external and keep all your critical info off the Deathstar and you will be fine :)

Lol deathstar. Well I have a 1.5tb server next to me, so ill back up everything onto there and then I guess I will be fine.

You'll be fine with the Deskstar. I own a few of them, well over 5 years old, work fine for me. Hitachi's are cheap because Hitachi can afford to be. Hitachi's drives are built no less cheaply than Western Digital drives. All brands of HDD's are built on an assembly line. Lolz freaking superstitions.

Hitachi is a MUCH bigger company than Western Digital, after all.

The Deathstar came from some dudes who got bad drives, rhymed Deskstar with Deathstar, and the name stuck from there. Simple as that.

When do you plan on putting it all together? Let's see some pics!

I probably wont take pictures while putting it together but ill certainly take pictures after it is done.

Also Demilich, thats true. It all depends on if you get a good one or a bad one.

You should go buy a lottery ticket with luck like that.

Western Digital when it comes to harddrives is a much bigger company than Hitachi. I don't know where you get your facts from but they are wrong. Hitachis are cheap because noone wants to buy them. Check this link: Fail Hitachis

From what I saw in that article, those drives were from IBM's design, because Hitachi bought out IBM, which Hitachi continued without finding any errors (even if it was their fault for not discovering the errors) it was an IBM design, that of course only being the 75GXP that was completely useless, which was even before Hitachi bought out IBM. That issue is well over seven years old, and the Deskstar line of hard drives is now perfectly fine. Every company faces a lawsuit sometime. And I don't agree that "noone wants to buy them". Hitachi hard drives are still quite popular. Not that I'm a fanboy lolz I do own two Western Digital drives, and a Samsung. But, Western Digital will eventually produce a bad drive, and WD will then too be slandered with some funny name lol and we will then claim how WD sucks, and Samsung is now the best, and it will rotate over the years, as it always has.
