rate this computer

I was wondering how good/bad this computer is...especially for gaming...

I am not 100% sure about the motherboard or cooling, but it has...

a quad core 2.66 intel processor q9450
160 GB WD 10k raptor hdd
4 GB ddr2 800k RAM
dual SLI nVIDIA 8800 GT
7.1 SB x-fi sound card

all the other stuff is self expanitory i think...usb 2.0 and dual cd/dvd drives and wutnot...

what does everyone think of this hardware? is this a good setup?

Definitely a good computer. Did I read it right; there's only a 150GB HDD when there's 4GB of memory?

It's a 10'000 RPM HDD, and a very good one. But yea, I'd say pickup another HDD, you can get 750 GB 7200 RPM ones on newegg for around $100.

yes, its a 160 GB WD Raptor HDD at 10k with 'databurst' technology (whatever that means, lol)

it has 4 GB 800 ddr2 RAM while running windows vista

what would ya guys say is the weak point of this setup?
is there any other info I can provide to give a better picture of this setup?

ABOUT crysis it should be able to max it out after OCing the CPU to 3.3GHz+.
the W.D SE16 640G HDD if just as fast as that HDD but quiter an more memory.
but all in all its a great setup

Crysis is a GFX demanding game. Not so much CPU. If what you said was true, a QX9650 + 8800GT should be able to completely max it out.

7200RPM vs 10k RPM. There's a difference all right.

The only part of that computer which isn't near top-end is the 4gb of ram. If you had 8, it would be a pretty damn good rig.

what motherboard??? what power supply??? you're going to have a hard time without those

and 8gb is a huge waste of money, the performance increase from 4gb to 6gb of ram is about 2-5%. it's just unnecessary right now

2 8800gt's is about $250 US, which is about equal to a gtx260 in performance, so go with a 4870 which outperforms the 260. Visiontek has one for $270 before rebates.

and i think the 10,000 rpm hdd is a waste unless your really impatient with loading screens. it's not going to boost game performance

4gig of high quality 1066mhz ram would be sufficiant for a while!

i am using 4gig of ram on vista64bit with no problems and i have never felt the need for more
