hi, im new here and i registered to get your opinion on this computer. any help would be great. i should explain that im 19 and going to uni to study computer game development so the comp needs to be able to play some games.

its an arbico custom built, these are the standard specs.

it costs £500 at standard but i have a maximum budget of £700 (ingoring P&P)

Go wish Vista. Way better than XP Home.

And as far as the video card, I'd go with the ATI cart as it's better than the 9500GT.
 
I'd recommend a 22". They're not bad now (I got mine at 140$). Look around on newegg for some sales. Other than that, it looks OK.

I would spend the 40 or 70 more and change the processor to the Phenom II 720 or the Phenom II 940. No telling what the Standard 450W Power Supply is either.

Have you thought about building one yourself?

i have tried to build one myself but i dont know which of the ati or nvidia graphic cards are better or whether to spend a little extra on upgrading the processor.
