Re-considering an upgrade

After watching this video, I've reconsidered an upgrade to my rig:

My specs are in my sig.

These are the things that I would add:
PSU: https://www.pcx.hu/seasonic-s12ii-620-620w-tapegyseg-203145
GPU: https://www.pcx.hu/asus-gtx1060-6gb-gddr5-strix-gtx1060-o6g-gaming-videokartya-282493
RAM: https://www.pcx.hu/kingston-2x8gb-ddr3-1333mhz-hyperx-fury-blue-hx313c9fk2-16-memoria-014946
SSD: https://www.pcx.hu/samsung-250gb-850-evo-mz-75e250b-eu-ssd-meghajto-068191

I just wanted to make sure everything goes together and that I can add all these components without an issue. My case is about 45cms long, I hope the GPU fits. (It's probably a noname case, it has MSG W on the front but I can't find anything about it online)

I have a 1080p monitor @ 60hz. This upgrade would roughly cost me $700. (after exchange rates)

Ahahaha! XD Damn! That Strix won't fit into this case. The only things missing from this list are new MOBO and CPU with a case that fits (maybe a new HDD as well). That's a new computer! -.-

Is there a need of 16GB RAM?
Would it be better to get second hand i5/ i7 instead of extra RAM?
What is your existing case?

Well, I just like to have more RAM than usual.

But the big issue is the size of my case.

Yeah, but that is not quite the same as the two or three-fan ones. I am not sure about getting a used CPU, but boxed i5-2500 is like way too much.

Hm. Can I install any new power supply without any issues at all with this motherboard? Also, I've decided to buy the GTX 1050 Ti after looking at some more gameplay videos. It will run Doom just fine.

Also, if I buy a used i5, will it come with its stock cooler? Should I replace the cooler? I have never really replaced a CPU / Cooler before. Nor a PSU but I can look at some instructions.

I've decided against more RAM. Seems like it was a good decision to buy 8GB four years ago.

Thanks!

If you move the harddrive down a couple of slots, you can probably fit a pretty long GPU in there (I'd say you probably have 400mm from the back of the case to the harddrive cage). Other than that, yea get a new PSU if you plan on any upgrades.

I have been doing some more research for video cards:

1) Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
2) RX 460 4GB

Which one should I get just to play Doom?
Do I need to update my BIOS?
If yes, how?

Between the 2 cards, the 1050 ti is a better buy.

If you're only upgrading the GPU, a bios update wouldn't be needed.

Well, to be honest... Other than the PSU and the GPU, I don't see a point in getting anything else. I would just use this as long as I can while I save up for something more serious.

That's a pretty wise decision. With a 1050 ti, you can probably get away with not getting a new PSU anyways. The lower end cards don't draw that much power and only needs what the PCI-E spec can provide anyways.

So long as the card you're getting doesn't require the 6-pin pci-e molex power which some 1050 ti's require. Usually they're on the top of the line 1050 ti models which I wouldn't bother with at this tier of cards.

I want to get a model that doesn't connect to the PSU. The only reason that I've been seriously considering a quality PSU is the fact that it can backfire on me. With some considerations for the future, I'd get a 620W Corsair or similar brand, 80+ Bronze.

Is there any point in getting silver, gold, etc? Everybody has a different opinion. But as a general consensus, bronze is fine.
