Hello, I have an eternal hard drive that is usb2. I'm upgrading my computer to usb motherboard and case.
My question is can I use my usb 2 hard drive in my usb3 port?
Or do I need a adapter?
And does it affect speed at all?

you can use usb 2.0 hardware in a usb 30. port it is backwards compatible, but you will only get usb 2.0 speed so it kind of pointless
