Yes that board will fit in your case. What's your budget for the graphics card, is that 100 bucks too?

will the motherboard work with windows 7?
Apparently that board works with Vista, so should work with 7 too - 99 times out of 100 the Vista drivers will also work with 7.

Or should i get

will that work with the case?
Yeah that board will fit in the case but that's an Intel board and the board you already have is an AMD one isn't it? Don't get that board, it won't work with your CPU.

Nope, that won't work with your CPU either. That's an AM3 board you've linked me too there, and you have an AM2 board and CPU. Just stick with what you've got, if you want to upgrade your board get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157204 but it's probably not worth the money. AM2 is an old socket now.

Any Socket AM2 CPU will work with your current board, and any Socket AM2 board will work with your current CPU.

To be honest with you Chris, AM2 is now an obsolete socket and not really worth investing any of your money in. I'd just upgrade to an Intel 1155 CPU if I were you, or an AMD AM3 or AM3+ CPU.

Ummmm.... well the AM3+ CPUs aren't as good as their predecessors, the AM3 CPUs, so I'd say if you want to upgrade to a newer AMD platform, go for an AM3 board and CPU.

The Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is a great AM3 CPU if you can afford it, it's $125 on Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

As for a board, this ASUS M4A88T EVO looks good to me http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131827

You'd need new RAM as well because that board does not support the DDR2 RAM you currently using, you'd need to upgrade to DDR3. RAM is so cheap these days even if it did support DDR2 I'd still advise you upgrade to DDR3.

Depends what brand your PSU is. If it's some generic cheap thing then the chances are it's not really a 500W, more like a 300-350W PSU.

What hard drive have you got? IDE or SATA?

Not a good PSU, you'd need to get a better one, and the SATA hard drive sounds all right. What make and size is it?

Pretty much 99% of the PSUs out there will fit your case. I only recommend buying power supplies from Corsair, OCZ, XFX, Antec, Silverstone and PC Power & Cooling. This 500W Corsair would be fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027

A 2GB hard drive? that's a bit small isn't it? don't you mean 20GB or 200GB? 20GB is going to be too small for Windows Vista and 7, 200GB would be absolutely fine.

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to get me to configure you a gaming PC here?? This started out as a thread asking if a motherboard would fit in a case.
