Hi everyone. I'm trying to read an old hd, and I have no idea how to do it. I have made my own external hd with notebook drives etc., but this is a more difficutly project. I was cleaning out my attic and threw away an old compaq desktop I had (windows 95). I took the internal hd out of the computer before I threw away. I'd like to hook up the old drive to my laptop, and see if I can recover anything off of it. The info on the hard drive is: Physical size 6" x 4" x 1". Maxtor model 91010E6, HDA/Uplevel 06A, PCBA/Uplevel 09A, Unique/Uplevel 38A, Cylinders 19386, Heads 16, Sectors 63, Jumper J50, Master/Single on, Slave off, cable select J48 installed. Has a long cable attached.
