Reading a hard drive.

Can someone please help me!

I have a 15year old lad at home who everytime goes on the computer when we are not here deletes all the history and cookies when he has finished on the computer, we obviously know what he is looking at but we need proof.
What I want to know is how easy is it and what do I have to do to read my hard drive, is there any software involved and if so what do I need.

Many thanks in advance.

what do you mean by "read my hard drive"? to look through your hard drive just go to my computer then c: local disc.

Internet explorer is what I am using, I think I am being misunderstood here I need to know what my son has been downloading, looking at on the internet while we are not in, he is wise enough to delete the history and cookies but I want to read the hard drive.

If you really wanted to know, you could get a keylogger, i think, that will record all of his actions when he is logged on.

Yea I think theres some programs that will keep a history that run in the background, havent used any but I,m sure somebody here has!

no offense but you son is retarded for deleting the whole history

a smart person wouldn't delete all of it but just the part that incriminate him

then no one has any suspision becasue everything else is there so he couldn't have "deleted" it

That did not help this thread at all.

Anyway back on topic, there are many free keyloggers out there to download that would show you every keystroke he has made. I will not post one here as last time i did some people didnt like it. Feel free to contact me if you would like more info.

Just ground him or take away his computer privileges for deleting the history. I don't think a key-tracker is the solution to him looking at that sort of stuff. You already know what he is doing, just confront him about it.

If you are certain of the things he visits, there are many ways you can approach this.

You can as listed above, get a keylogger which will record all his keystrokes and more, given the certain utility you choose. So even if he deleted all the histories and such, you will still know the keystrokes he pressed.. so for example, he visited google. You will know that the keystrokes he used to get there was www.google.com and you will thus know where he really did go.

Another way is to have parental controls. This will help you monitor his activities online and not let him visit certain sites you do not approve of. If you so choose to, some of these tools even have keyloggers with it also.

Last resort, setup a hidden camera.

Many thanks to all you great people, your help has been great at least now I have a couple of options.
Many many thanks and keep up the good work.
