Reading amperage off PSU

How do you determine what is total amperage of a PSU?

+12V1 Rail : 22 A
+12V2 Rail : 22 A
+12V3 Rail: 25 A

Do you just add them?

Underneath the 12v rails there should be a wattage, or somewhere on the power supply "Maximum combined 12v wattage xxx Watts", take that number and divide by 12 volts to get watts.

What power supply do you have?

I am just asking how to calculate amperage because I was going to get Antec 650W and GTX 260.

Earthwatts has 45 amps. The Truepower has 54 amps. Thats total on the 12V

Tried to explain that earlier...but lets use pictures eh?

For example, that unit says 264W combined over the +12v rails, divide 264(watts) by 12(volts) and youll get your amperage.



Antec 650W is plenty of power for a GTX260 whether its an earthwatts or truepower. You can run a GTX260 on any decent 550W such as a corsair as well.

The only time you wont have a max power over the rails is 1. If it is a single rail power supply, or 2. If it is a low end unit, which you shouldnt buy cheap power supplies to begin with.
