Reading burnt DVDs

Um, what do I need to be able to read a burnt data DVD (such as one with images, documents, etc)? A normal DVD drive (just one that can play DVD movies...) or a DVD burner?

Sorry, I'm not good with computers >_<!

Thanks~

There are ways to get a home theatre DVD player to read DVDs like this, but that is much more complicated. Just make sure that the drive you are buying is compatible with the disks that you are trying to read. There are 2 formats, + and -, most drives now and going to be able to read both format, but just make sure that if you are using DVD+R disks, that you get a drive that can read them and the same goes for the DVD-R disks.

if the disc wasn't finalized at the end of the burn, your DVD ROM may not beable to read the disc correctly, but that's not always true. Thant's one of those things that just depends.

What is "finalized"? (Ah, I'm really bad with this stuff T_T.) And how do I go abouts "finalizing" it?

Thanks for the help, everyone :D!

That just simply means the software writes the disc as closed and does not allow you to burn multi-session disks.

multi session just refers to burning part of the disk and if it's not full adding something later.
