my internet conncection is about 50k/sec,
here the most internet conncetion speed is 50k,
someone told me i can get a "receiver card", and a "dish" (and lmd?) ,
that i send with my modem at 50k , but i recieve (download) at 500k per second,
anyone know how this thing should work ? or how can i match the 50k modem with the receiver card so that send/revieve thing work together?

haha, If that was possible, the maker would make Millions.

As your connecting through Dial Up, Your phone line is un-able to support that speed.

I think the person is talking aboud DSL

K3rupt is right, when you are using a 56K modem the absolute highest speed you can get it 56K, you can't amplify it with a dish or anything of the sort. You can have broadband internet via Satellite, but that costs alot more money. If you want faster speeds get cable or DSL internet.

he was talking about DSL , right,
the problem is i can't access him now ,
i remeber he said about getting a 110 W dish , a normal LMD , a router, and a reciever card , of course DSL internet connection ,
he said the internet speed (download speed not upload) would get so much higher because of the bandwith , one i guess of the dish and satelite, another router? i donno , he sia dthese bandwiths multyply eachother i guess,
i would spend money for it , but i don't know how can i match them together!
anyone help ?

A satellite dish has nothing to do with DSL. DSL uses the existing phone line, satellite internet uses a satellite dish.

What he may be talking about is using the dish and router to pick up WiFi signals over a larger range, but all that does it tap off someones existing internet connection.

as you said it, i remember he said it too , "we cannot make the internet speed higher, we are making the bandwidths larger! (or more?) "
how can i find out about this thing?

You dont seem to get it, you cant increase the bandwidth or speed by using a satellite dish on an existing dial-up, DSL, or cable connection.

well they do offer satellite internet in some places which is considered broadband, and phone lines can very well handle more bandwidth than a 56k connection. However, the FCC regulates it and it is illegal to get anything beyond that with dial up.

You can get decent speeds on satellite but your ping is going to suck because your signal has to be triangulated to your position. So you will most likely have a high ping in all video games.

Get cable or DSL its getting so much cheaper these days and its most likely offered in your area.

Yes they do offer satellite, but I believe he was asking if there was a way to increase his speed/bandwidth by somehow constructing something using a satellite dish and a router, to speed up his existing dial-up connection.

Yeah it was very confusing exactly what they were asking...I just thought I would add that there is satellite broadband if that what they were talking about.
