Recommand a external hard drive

Right now I have a 1500GB Barrcuda 7200.11 Seagate that died AGAIN with its "Lockdown" Beeping alarm noise few days ago, is there any other bloody external hard drives that doesn't die at all? or to fix it without losing data or paying 2000$ to recover?

Also, I'm willing to take bare drives too since I have the adapter that connects to the bare drive (I opened the enclosure and remove the bare drive) and it can connect to SATA

I could get a 2TB Caviar SATA bare drive to replace this crappy Seagate drive?

What's your recommendation?

You could try a 32 or 64 gigabyte USB flash drive, but I don't think you are going to like the read and write speed times with it.

A solid state drive can also be be converted into an external drive.

It is possible your external hard drive enclosure is destroying the hard drives. I have had good fortune with the Seagate hard drives I have used.

You may want to try a different enclosure. Have your external drives been dropped in the past or handled rough?
