Recommend a laptop for me :)

Hi I am looking to buy a new laptop that I can plug into my computer monitor as well as use on the go.

Budget: around $700-$900
I would like the laptop to have good battery life (3+ hrs) and at least a 15.4in screen (bigger would be nice too)
I will be using the laptop mostly for day-to-day activities, that is, internet browsing, DVD watching, music listening/downloading, burning CDs, word processing, Photoshop, and some video editing
I am a big multitasker, so I need something that will allow me to use lots of programs at once without freezing up or shutting down. Also, it would be an added bonus if it starts up relatively quickly
Built-in webcam would be an added bonus
Windows Vista please
Hard drive can be whatever size; I have an external

Above all, the laptop that I am looking for should be fast, with no lag or freezing. I don't know if what I want is possible within my price range, and if it's not, if you could give me some recommendations of computers that may not have all of the features that I want, or may be out of my price range, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Thanks for the link I will look through it, but are there any specific laptops that anyone recommends with the things that I mentioned?

Also why 4GB? I know it will make better at multitasking, but is it worth the potential price difference from one with 3GB or lower? Thanks for your response!

4GB will allow you to have more programs open and for them to have more space to work with....

Just a thought, but you might wanna take a look at some notebooks with dedicated gpu's vs an integrated one if you plan on doing any gaming.

yes timmy I can add emoticons to my message too

:mad:Yes, but I did a 10 second search. You can get about a 2.0ghz c2d and an 8400 for around $900..

Just a note: I am not a gamer, so no dedicated gpu needed, thanks for the thought though. Anyone have any more recommendations?

Yeah, But you did say you do Photoshop?
The problem with delicate graphic card is shorter the battery life.

anyway, I would vote for the $750 leveno

Yeah I will be using Photoshop but I don't want to sacrifice the better battery life + the computer I am currently using has an integrated graphics card and I'm fine with how it runs Photoshop. So integrated is fine I think thanks for the tips though :).

Also I am really liking the Lenovo and the Toshiba posted, both are great, leaning toward the Leveno because of it's cheaper price unless the Toshiba has anything that justifies the $100 difference. Also when I was going through the specs for the Memory Specs the Lenovo has 2GB x 1+1GB x 1 which I assume means not true 3GB but rather 2GB and 1GB combined. Will this make any type of difference with the things I plan on doing? (note I am a heavy multitasker)

Once again thanks for all the responses :) will hopefully be buying one before the week is through.

the lenovo is cheaper and has a better processor. :)

i just posted all three since i found them to have the best deal. :P
