Recommendation For Building a Fighter

I am seriously considering building what I like to call "A Fighter" but not frightening (price wise)! I know the price is a bit heavy so I am just picking piece by piece so that I won't break my wallet.

These are the pieces I have so far for the build:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
Graphic Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870
Power Supply: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS

Pieces to buy in mind (All prices listed are today's price so they could change later):
  • CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Carrying Handles, White - $110
  • Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) - $150
  • WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache - WD10EZEX - $65
  • Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K - $220
  • Pioneer Electronics USA Blu Ray Combo Drive, BDC-207DBK - $45
  • ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - $125

Note: I am not hardware wiz so I want your help and recommendation for this build.

Thanks.

Update:
Please check carefully and let me know if there is any compatibility issue or anything not right with these hardware.
Pieces ordered:
  • CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Carrying Handles, White - $110
  • Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) - $70
  • WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache - WD10EZEX - $65
  • Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ 6 MB Cache - BX80646I54670K - $235
  • Pioneer Electronics USA Blu Ray Combo Drive, BDC-207DBK - $46
  • Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1600 Intel Motherboards GA-Z87-HD3 - $125

I would do 1 8 GB stick now, than another one when RAM goes down in price. Do you honestly have a legit copy of W7? Nobody buys Ultimate, but plenty pirate it.

RAM will not go down in price. Once DDR4 comes out, DDR3 will go up. Same thing happened with DDR2.

OP, why an Ivy Bridge CPU? Try for a 4670k or 4770k since you said you were working with CD modeling.

Will also mean you have to change to a 1150 socket motherboard.

DDR3 is $80 for 8 GB right now. Big fire in the Hynix factory, and DDR3 prices spiked. Same thing happened with HDDs in the tsunami, but they went down in rice, didn't they?

Can you please elaborate.

I think I can go with i5-4670k if it is better than i5-3570k. They are almost the same price.

That's just a small part of desktop memory prices jump. Samsung and Micron can keep the pace up just fine. Most of the reason is the desktop sales slump. Less desktops sold, less memory sold, higher price. Don't really see that improving any time soon.

Do you think I should wait after the holidays and then pick the rest assuming they are going to be cheaper?

They all took advantage of it. Prices spiked as soon as the Hynix factory happened, look it up. OP, just go to the site of the mother board and look at the CPU compatibility list.

I have just updated my list. Please reread main post and let me know if there is anything I need to do now.

Thanks.

Get a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H for a little more money.
I have already purchased this one: Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1600 Intel Motherboards GA-Z87-HD3

It was recommended by a member here. What is the difference? The motherboard I bought it supports to 32GB ram memory expansion.

The memory price hike ain't no joke. I bought two sets of mems from Newegg

2x2 Gskill Dual Mode Kit - 11/01/12 - $24.99 now $44.99
2x4 Corsair Vengeance - 12/31/12 - $45.99 now $84.99

I'm glad I built two system at the end of 2012 to the first few months of 2013.

Whew!
