I would like some advice about buying a computer as I am not technologically inclined. I currently have a laptop which is great for when I travel. Up until now, I've never had a problem with it or its functionality.
I would like to buy a desktop computer because I am finding it increasingly frustrating to do my lengthy school assignments and essays on a laptop. I am also doing a lot of writing because I am starting a blog which requires long hours of research and writing. My rationale for buying a desktop is that I prefer using a separate keyboard and mouse, it will be a good 'family' computer for kids (as I do not want them using my desktop), and it'll be an upgrade from my current laptop. My wife will also use it for some of her business as well.
There are also a few other requirements. Because I will have multiple windows and programs open at a time, I would like to have three separate screens. I have two at work at I find it very functional, but three would be preferred.
My questions to this forum are:
1. Where does one go to buy a computer? My brother recommended www.ncix.com. PS It will be shipped to Canada.
2. What range of specifications should I opt for? I don't want any performance issues in the near term and money is not a big consideration. I understand what most of the technical specifications mean, I just don't have a clue as to their value in relation to my needs.
3. Is there an easy way to rig a computer to have three monitors?
Merci beaucoup.
