viewsonic, samsung, LG. They make pretty good monitors.
The thing is, all LCD panels come from 5 or 6 manufacturers. For a gaming system, I'd recommend finding one with a true 2ms response time, but most say under 8ms is okay. I personally notice ghosting at anything above 4ms.
Other than that, it depends on your preferences, on exactly what you're looking for in a company. Some companies I know of that only offer a 1-year warranty as opposed to the standard 3-years are Westinghouse, Gateway, HP/Compaq, and eMachines. However, you're likely to get better service.
LCD monitor warranties come in three parts - labor, parts, and backlight. LG offers a 3-year warranty on the box, but in truth the backlight warranty is only one year.
I've personally tested a majority of 19" monitors that are now available and I chose the widescreen LG. Colors are true, it has great contrast and a true 2ms response time.
It's probably wise to note that Samsung monitors, while they advertise 2ms, actually have a 5ms response time and use "RTA overdrive" to achieve what looks like 2ms. This can result in a "halo effect" with certain colors (a bright light around fast-moving objects).
Moreover, Samsung outsources the panels they use in their monitors. In other words, you pay a high price for the Samsung name, but you might not even be getting a real Samsung panel (http://andrewswihart.net/blog/review-samsung-226bw-lcd-c-panel).
I can tell you more if you tell us what you're looking for beyond gaming. Based purely on the fact that you want a gaming system, LG's L##WTQ line are the fastest consumer panels available today.

do you want standard or widescreen?
games are more compatible with standard then widescreen, and to get the height of a 19" standard, you'd need a 22" widescreen.
