To speed up computers? I use CCleaner and Registry booster regularly. Is there anything else I can do because my computer is extremely slow. I also use Norton for firewall/ anti virus.
 
Hey, as long as you have a A-V and a good registry and useless file cleaner you're good ;)

I personally use Norton but it is known to be a resource hog. Changing to another A-V will definitely make your computer faster. I never had any problems with Norton, so I'm not going to remove it for a long time ;) It's up to you.

My programs are:
  • Anti virus: Norton Internet Securirty 2005
  • Anti-Spyware: Ad-Aware Free edition
  • Registry/useless files cleaner: CCleaner
 
what i usually do is reformatt whenever my computer gets slow. well i have it ghosted so i dont have to go through setting it up again...

and running disk defrag might do it some good. i use this program http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag
and find that its quite good.

also i dont run any AV software cos frankly i dont like it slowing down my computer. and i dont have any valuable data and everthing is backed up.
but im not saying that you should run without any, because thats not a good idea ;)
 
a/v firewall: nod internet suite
just a/v: nod
just firewall: i use kerio personal firewall but i'm pretty sure there are some better ones out there
registry cleaner and os tweaks: yamicsoft
trash disposer: ccleaner. rarely use it to registry clean
defragmenter: ultimate defrag. i consider this to be the best
just spyware cleaner: spyware doctor --- resource hog and boots up slow but it's really good
uninstaller: smarty uninstaller. i'm pretty sure there are better ones out there but i'm used to this.
