Hello experts,
i require some technical help, i need to recovery a standard hard drive (western digital) which came out from a server. i cannot get windows 7 to read the drive. Reading on the net i notice that the GPT file system is for windows servers.
windows 7 can see the drive but is currently as un-utilised

my task is to recovery data from this hard drive. i currently have access to linux ubuntu, i am willing to download whatever necessary to recovery the content of the drive.

Thank You but this was not succesful, a message kept prompting that the disk was not reading.

Technical guru's please help, as loosing the data is not an option im thinking of.

If the drive is an IDE HDD you can use THDD, (a very good freeware program that runs from a floppy), to check it to see what if any damage it might have. I have a DATA recovery program called "Recover it all professional" that has helped me in past to recover data from an inadvertantly formatted drive; but it only works if the drive works. Apart from that, I knew a lawyer, who only had one HDD in his machine, and when that drive failed he had to send it to a company that uses a "Clean Room" to dismantle HDDs and somehow copy the data from them. COST : $2200.00
