Recovery Possible?

Alright, so here is my current situation.

I wish to recover AIM logs / "AIMLogger" files. They are in HTML format and saved normally under

C:\Users\Name\Documents\AIMLogger\<IMScreen Name>

7 months ago I had this stupid annoying virus on my computer. So I backed up my important items and did a complete hard drive wipe. This program I had deleted, re-wrote the computer disk multiple times but I never let it finished it's first cycle (it had 5 cycles)

The disk/program is called Darik's Boot and Nuke. I was wondering if it was possible to dig up the old Vista files from before I did a complete "wipe" of my hard drive using Darik's Boot and Nuke. I was seeing if ANYTHING is recoverable. I tried using recover program trails/freebe versions and they seem to never find the old stuff. All I wanted was my AIM conversations I had from like 3 years ago.

I'm going to contact AIM soon and see if they have copies of my conversations. I doubt they do though.

I used recuva and the file has been overwritten by another. I was thinking of sending it to a service to see if they can still retrieve the file.

Recuva said it was unrecoverable. So I right clicked and recovered it anyways and got raw text data it's called? Idk, it's a bunch of different funky letters and symbols.

I doubt a professional company will be able to recover the data and it would be quite expensive for you especially just for IM conversations. Why are they so important to you?

Well, the conversations usually consisted of our day by day activities we had at that age. I wanted to recover them so I can look back on it and reminisce on good times.

Plus, I'm thinking about pressing charges against another person which a lot of activity went on in AIM.

Well, if they can recover any data, then you are talking about hundreds of dollars that it will cost, its definately not cheap. You need to decide whether its worth that much money to get them back(if possible). My thoughts would be to let them go.
