I recently had to use the recovery partition on my HDD to re-install Windows, and was wondering. How does that work? As far as I know there is no Windows CD on that partition so how did it re-install Windows?
As I understand a recovery partition to work, it probably took the Windows software from your main partition and stored it on there for later installation.
